Mackenzie Edwards, LMSW, earned her Master of Social Work from Utah State University after completing her Bachelor of Social Work. Her professional background includes experience in both elementary schools and private practice settings, giving her valuable insight into the unique challenges faced by children and families.
Mackenzie primarily works with children and adolescents ages 4–16 but also sees older teens and adults. Her specialties include anxiety, anger management, and depression. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy, Mackenzie adapts her style to meet the needs of each client. While she tends to be direct and structured, she believes in giving clients the space to guide sessions based on their immediate concerns. For those who enjoy visual aids, she incorporates worksheets or homework to reinforce therapeutic concepts.
Mackenzie understands that starting therapy—whether for yourself or your child—can feel overwhelming or intimidating. Her goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered to take on life’s challenges. She is dedicated to equipping her clients with the tools and skills needed to thrive both in the present and long term.
Mackenzie has been passionate about mental health since her freshman year of high school, where she saw firsthand the struggles many children face. Her focus on early intervention reflects her belief in building a strong foundation for lifelong success.
When she’s not working with clients, Mackenzie enjoys reading fantasy novels, crocheting, playing soccer, and exploring video games. She values creativity and fun, which she often brings into her therapeutic work with children.
