Ryan McNamara, LCSW
My name is Ryan McNamara, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Loyola University at Chicago, a master’s degree in humanities from the University of Dallas, and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Before working in mental health, I taught middle and high school. I began my mental health career working in an outpatient substance misuse and behavioral health non-profit agency. I have experience providing group and individual psychotherapy, serving in clinical supervisory roles, and serving as a program coordinator.
I blend a direct yet flexible approach, ensuring clear communication and adaptability to each client's needs. It is trauma-informed, collaborative, and empathic in nature. My style is fairly structured, emphasizing the importance of homework to reinforce therapeutic gains and insights. At its core, my practice is client-centered, prioritizing the unique journey and goals of each individual I work with.
My call to arms would have to be empowering individuals to navigate life's complexities. As a therapist, I am driven by the transformative power of therapy in unlocking personal growth and resilience. I'm deeply committed to supporting clients in their journey towards healing, self-discovery, and achieving a more fulfilling life.
