Hello! My name is Caryss Hoegenauer. I received my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science from John Brown University followed by my Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have spent ten years working in the child welfare system and two years in the private practice setting.
Currently, I work with clients as young as six years old, all the way through adulthood. My primary areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and a history of abuse, as well as a growing expertise in play therapy. I have had the opportunity to engage in a number of advanced trainings, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute, EMDR, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development. Additionally, I pull from not only these areas but also Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. I am actively involved in helping the team provide the following types of evaluations: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Diagnostic, IQ, and Learning Disorders.
My clients would describe me as supportive, solution-focused and strengths based - with a propensity to give homework! You possess an incredible amount of resilience to have gotten to where you are today. I want to come alongside you, help you meet your goals, set realistic expectations, and encourage your journey towards a fuller life.
