Sydney Wheeler, LMSW

Sydney Wheeler earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degrees from Texas Christian University (TCU). She brings a wealth of experience from her work in inpatient psychiatric settings with teens and adults, as well as her role on the crisis hotline and patient advocacy team at the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center. Her background also includes an undergraduate internship with Arrow Child and Family Ministries in foster care and adoption, research assistance with TCU’s Department of Social Work, and serving as a summer learning program teacher with VISTA AmeriCorps.

 

Ms. Wheeler works with teens and adults, specializing in trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, substance use, and chronic pain. She employs a collaborative, structured, and individualized approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths-Based approaches, Trauma-Focused care, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills work.

 

Passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges, Ms. Wheeler is dedicated to finding opportunities for peace, growth, and clarity through trauma-informed approaches. She is honored to walk alongside individuals in their struggles and triumphs, providing a compassionate and empowering therapeutic experience.

 

Outside of work, Ms. Wheeler enjoys baking, knitting, and playing video games. She is also the proud owner of a 9-year-old French bulldog named Obi, who is her pride and joy.
